The Glen Helen Amphitheatre provided a perfect backdrop for the festival, with its expansive outdoor setting and excellent acoustics. The atmosphere was electric, with fans eagerly anticipating Creed’s performance.
The festival had a nostalgic vibe, celebrating the late ’90s and early 2000s rock-era. The crowd was more than 35,000, with every seat filled and the lawn full of adoring fans. Included on the bill were nine bands that all fit in perfectly with the festival’s theme. Opening the day were the Verve Pipe. Followed by Vertical Horizon, Dorothy, Fuel, Finger Eleven, Hinder, Daughtry and Three Doors Down.
Each band aside from the latter two had roughly only 30 minutes to give the crowd a few of the songs that brought them to our attention during the last 25 years. Daughtry took the stage and immediately got the crowd in motion. Most had been trying to stay cool on this hot day.
Chris Daughtry’s stage presence was charismatic and engaging. He frequently interacted with them, sharing stories behind the songs and expressing gratitude for the fans’ support. The band’s chemistry was evident, and their enthusiasm was infectious. As the sun began to set Three Doors Down entered the stage. They delivered a powerful setlist that included fan favorites and hits like“Kryptonite,” “Here Without You,” and “When I’m Gone.” The band also played tracks from their newer albums, keeping the setlist fresh and engaging. The performance was tight, with each member showcasing their musical prowess.
Creed delivered a high-energy performance that spanned nearly two hours. The setlist was a mix of their greatest hits and fan favorites, ensuring that there was something for everyone. The stage production was top notch with excellent lighting, a massive digital display, CO2 blasts and lots of pyro. The band kicked off the night with“Bullets,” setting the tone for an intense and engaging show.
Scott Stapp, the lead vocalist, was in top form, delivering powerful and emotive performances. His stage presence was commanding, and he connected with the audience through heartfelt speeches about overcoming struggles and finding unity. Guitarist Mark Tremonti’s riffs were a highlight, especially during songs like “What If” and “Overcome.”
Songs like “My Own Prison,” “Higher,” and “With Arms Wide Open” had the crowd singing along passionately. Stapp, along with Mark Tremonti (Guitar), Brian Marshall (Bass), Scott Phillips (Drums) all began the band 30 years ago. They are joined by a fifth member on guitar are well Eric Friedman.
The crowd’s energy was palpable throughout the night. Fans of all ages were present, many of whom had grown up listening to Creed. The singalongs during hits like “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice” created a sense of community and shared nostalgia.
