Night Ranger – Rancho Mirage, CA – 2/2/2024

Night Ranger rocked the house at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino on February 2, 2024, as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour.

The veteran hard rock band delivered a setlist full of their classic hits, covers, and fan favorites, pleasing the nearly sold-out crowd with their energy and charisma. The band opened with their anthemic “(You Can Still) Rock in America”, setting the tone for the night. They followed with “Four in the Morning”, “Sing Me Away”, and “Coming of Age”, a song from their side project Damn Yankees. The band sounded tight and powerful, with lead singers Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy alternating vocals and harmonizing well.

Guitarist Brad Gillis showcased his skills with impressive solos and riffs, while keyboardist Eric Levy and guitarist Keri Kelli added depth and texture to the sound. The band also had fun with some covers, such as Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”, Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”, and Damn Yankees’ “HighEnough”. They paid tribute to their influences and peers, while putting their own spin on the songs. The audience sang along and cheered, showing their appreciation for the band’s versatility and musicality.

The highlight of the night was the ballad “Sister Christian”, which had everyone waving their lighters and phones in the air. Keagy sang the song with emotion and passion, while the rest of the band joined in for the chorus. The song was a huge hit in the 80s, and it still resonates with fans today. The band closed with “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me”, another rockin’ tune that had the crowd on their feet. Night Ranger proved that they still have what it takes to put on a great show, even after four decades of making music. They entertained the fans with their catchy songs, their lively performance, and their genuine gratitude.
