We first caught Paralandra live at the Kick-off party for Rokisland festival back in January. We’d heard the buzz around the band, but just hadn’t had an opportunity to see a show. They have played everything from Rocklahoma to NAMM to the KISS Kruise prior to becoming a house band of sorts at this year’s Rokisland festival. Additionally, they have supported Yngwie Malmsteen, Tantric, Saliva, Alter Bridge, Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin, and they are set to release a new album in early April which is titled The Body Electric.
So it seemed like a good time to chat with Casandra Carson who formed the band with her co-writer and father, guitarist Paul Carson. Especially since Casandra has been making waves amongst the Monsters of Rock Cruise community for her recent cameo’s on stage with Jeff Scott Soto’s band SOTO where she performed the duet of “Stand Up and Shout” from the movie soundtrack for Rockstar and a guest appearance on KIX’s “Cold Blood” along with Brian Forsythe during Heaven’s Edge’s second performance on the cruise.
Paralandra is Casandra Carson on lead vocals and guitar and Paul Carson on guitar along with drummer Dakota Watson and bassist Sawyer Rikard. You can find them in the gallery below from Rokisland Festival and catch our full interview here on the @ThePureRockShop YouTube channel.
