Bowl for Ronnie Benefit – Studio City, CA – 11/14/2024

The Bowl for Ronnie benefit for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund returned to Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City on Thursday 11/14/2024.

Retuning emcee and celebrity bowler Eddie Trunk of Sirius/XM radio, gathered a team that included Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and bassist Shavo Odadjian (System of a Down).

During the event, the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund proudly presented a $25,000 check to the Regents of the University of California for continued cancer research in Ronnie’s memory.

 

Other rockers who attended included Jeff Pilson (Foreigner) and his frontman’s former Hurricane bandmate Robert Sarzo and brother, Rudy Sarzo of Quiet Riot; guitar virtuoso Richie Kotzen along with his wife Julia Lage (Vixen); and L.A. Guns founder Tracii Guns.

Former Dio band members Simon Wright, Scott Warren and Vinny Appice also attended in support of their former frontman’s charity, and West Bound led by singer Chas West and Jason Cornwell were also on hand to knock down some pins.

Red-Carpet participants included, Tim “Ripper” Owens (KK’s Priest), Bjorn Englen, Rob Math (Soul Sign), Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), Orianthi, Fred Coury (Cinderella), Gilby Clarke (Guns ‘N Roses), Jason Charles Miller and Nick Mason (Jason Charles Miller), Danny “Count” Koker and Stoney Curtis (Count’s 77), Kurt Deimer, Brian Tichy, August Zadra (Dennis DeYoung Band), Marc Ferrari (Keel and Cold Sweat), Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Ira Black (BulletBoys), DJ William Howell, Jeremy Coulson, Sam “Bam’ Koltun (Budderside, Faster Pussycat), Cory Feldman, Wendy Dio, Juan Garcia (Body Count), Star Fields (Actor), Abby Gennet and Brett Scallions (Fuel), Sean McNabb and his wife Christine Devine, Jenny Vee and Slim Jim Phantom, Alistair St. James (Adler), Neil Turbin, Regina Banali, and West Bound.
