Krles third release “Slzy Arkóny“ finds the band making a change in singers with new vocalist Zuzana. I have to give Krles credit for sticking to their guns and keeping the vocals in their native Czech tongue as Zuzana does a fine job in replacing Simona.
From the lead track “Zkrat”, it appears that Krles has beefed up the production while the songs still possess the stylistic quality of early Warlock. “Pán iluzí” has a bit of a heavier ZZ Top boogie metal vibe. The power metal “Devátá brána Retry” sounds more like something out of the Gamma Ray or Iron Savior camps while “Noc” has a bit of a Helloween feel. “Rytíři bez koní” falls back into the Warlock mode with even a hint of early 90’s Riot thrown in for good measure. The guitars throughout this song are most impressive. “Království duševních okovů” possesses a bit of an early solo Ozzy aura with the guitars sounding closer to the Randy Rhoads school of playing. The closing title cut “Slzy Arkóny” starts out mellow and develops into a stormer of a track.
